I’ve spent most of my adult life caring for the people I love.

I was a caregiver to my mother through her journey with Parkinson’s, and today I care for my father—while also navigating life with my husband (better known as “Pappy”), who’s had his own share of health challenges along the way.

Caregiving isn’t something I studied from a distance. It’s something I’ve lived—every day, in real time.

As the former founder of an award-winning, Pennsylvania-licensed home care agency, I’ve also seen firsthand what families go through behind closed doors. The overwhelm. The decisions. The exhaustion. The constant wondering if you’re doing the right thing.

I can spot a “Local Daughter” before she even walks into the room.

The one asking all the questions.

The one carrying more than anyone realizes.

I know her—because I am her.

Why I Created This

My mother’s final years were, in a word, daunting.

There were moves. Hospital stays. Injuries.

New diagnoses. Endless medications. Clinical trials.

Mobility equipment. Legal decisions. Selling a home.

Eventually, transitioning to skilled nursing.

There were countless hours, significant financial strain, and time away from work—for both me and my sister. And through it all, my father became exhausted and unwell himself.

It’s a path so many families walk… but few feel prepared for.
